I am not going to lie, it was hard to decide who was
Fabulous and who was Faux Fabulous at tonight’s Oscars. The ladies who I
selected for my Fabulous list really soared above the rest and stuck out to me.
The ladies whom I picked as Faux Fabulous were not cited for too many fashion
violations, but there were some small details which caused them to be featured
on my Faux Fabulous list. I must say, I wish Charlize Theron and Kate
Beckinsale were in attendance because I would have loved to have seen what they
would have decided to wear, but I still had a good selection of Fabulous looks
to choose from. Like I have said before, actresses do it best, and here is my
evidence.
Fabulous:
Jennifer Lopez wearing Zuhair Murad - I will be honest, I am not the biggest J. Lo fan, but I love how she always pushes the envelope and never plays it safe. She hit the nail on the head this time and looks fabulous! I love the sexiness of this dress, but I also love how it is reminiscent of starlets from the past. J. Lo is undoubtedly sexy and reminds us every chance she gets, but I am thankful she reminded us of her sexiness the right way this time around by showing the right amount of skin.
Cameron Diaz wearing Gucci - She looks stunning in this
halter dress which shows just a little skin. I love the dramatic flair at the
bottom of it, and even though it is nude, she still manages to shine in it. I
think she really tried to give J. Lo a run for her money since she knew they
were presenting an award together.
Gwyneth Paltrow wearing Tom Ford - This is a look we have
never seen on the red carpet before and I love it. Truth be told, I love
anything different as long as it looks good and I am happy Gwyneth stepped
outside of the box with this look because it definitely worked for her.
Angelina Jolie wearing Atelier Versace - She was not playing
tonight, and at every chance she had, she made sure she showed us her traffic
stopping leg. Every time I look at this picture, I think of John Leguizamo when he was in “To Wong Foo” and said, “I have more legs than a bucket of chicken!”(fast forward to the 6:45 mark) Nonetheless, black suited her well and she made
a fabulous choice.
Emma Stone wearing Giambattista Valli Couture - I love any
type of drama around the neck and shoulder area, so Emma Stone was a shoo-in
for my Fabulous list. I also love the color of the dress and how the bottom of
the dress is a little lighter in color. She looked flawless and fabulous all at
the same time.
Faux Fabulous:
Missi Pyle wearing Valentina Delfino - “Prom Dresses Gone
Wrong” is what I thought the second I saw this dress. So if your daughter or
you are thinking about wearing a prom dress that looks anything like this to
prom this year, please go back to the store you bought it from and return it. I
am helping to make sure your daughter or you do not end up on someone’s
Fabulous or Faux Fabulous Prom Dress Edition (I am sure some fledgling fashionisto/fashionista
has one).
Natalie Portman wearing Christian Dior - I did not get the
memo polka dots are back in style. Honestly, I do not think polka dots ever
look good and are a trend I would like to never see come back. Natalie usually
looks fabulous, so I am blaming this one on her stylist.
Sandra Bullock wearing Marchesa - It looks like two
octopuses playing tug-a-war on her waistline to me and like she is a mermaid
who just walked out of the sea. I also do not like how it is loose in the
blouse part of the dress, fitted around her hips, and then becomes loose again.
Sandra usually comes through looking fabulous, so I will let her off easy this
time, but next time she will not get off so easy.
Rose Byrne wearing Vivienne Westwood - I love me some Vivienne
Westwood, but this dress is not one of the reasons I love her. It leaves
something to be desired and kind of looks like a super shiny trash bag made
into a dress. It is definitely not a winning look.
Busy Phillips wearing Dolce & Gabbana - I have just
given up on her because she always manages to look Faux Fabulous. This paisley
print is all too reminiscent of the bandanas people used to wear years ago. To
top it off, she wore a pink heel (blank stare). If she is dressing herself, she
needs to hire a stylist. If her stylist is dressing her, she needs to fire them
because they should do a better job. She has about a year before awards season
returns, so hopefully she will be able to get it right next year.
Fabulous or Faux Fabulous: What do you think?
Stacey Keibler wearing Marchesa - I kind of like this dress
and hate it all at the same time. I love the color and the shape of it, but
hate how there is what looks like a cinnabon protruding from her hip area. The
only thing missing was the cream cheese icing. When it comes to women, the hip
area is the widest part of the body, so to avoid drawing attention to this
area, nothing such as this should be placed there because it always makes the
hips look larger. I need the help of my FABs with making this decision. Do you think she is Fabulous or Faux
Fabulous? Let me know what you all think by voting in the poll to the right.

I did not like J-Lo's dress... She should have been on the Faux Fabulous list...

I thought there weren't any "WOW" dresses over all, with that said I loved Charlize Theron and Viola Davis dresses.
