Christian Louboutin |
While recently at the barber shop for my weekly appointment to maintenance my fabulous, they were talking about Christian Louboutin shoes. Of course, they said the name wrong and it left me thinking.
In the year 2012, we still have faux fabulous people running around wearing designer clothes and unable to pronounce the labels they wear. Trust me when I say this is more than just a rare occurrence. I usually politely correct the person when I hear this, but on occasion I have been met with attitude (go figure!).
At this point in time with the internet readily available, it is unacceptable for people to wear designers they are unable to pronounce. Please Google the pronunciation, watch a YouTube video, or better yet, ask the cashier whom you are buying the item from how to pronounce the designer.
I often think the person is wearing the article of clothing because they know everyone else is wearing this designer, so they decide to jump on the bandwagon and emulate everyone else. Most importantly, it is impossible to impress a FAB one like me when it is obvious this is not a designer you normally wear and do not know their name.
Being fabulous is not about keeping up with the Johnsons (I do not know who the Joneses are, so I always prefer to use my last name instead), it is about setting your own pace and doing your own thing while others move at the pace dictated to them by society. To be fabulous, you must do the due diligence associated with carrying such a prestigious title and know your stuff. Honestly, being fabulous is not about the clothes you wear or how much they cost, it is about the person within radiating out in a fashion that clothes are unable to contain.
Because to be fabulous, you have to know what makes you fabulous!
