Living a fabulous life isn't easy, but I do it flawlessly! Of course I am not going to toot my own horn (beep-beep!), but this is not another blog from yet another pretentious person who thinks they are more fabulous than reality. Instead, I detail the makings of a fabulous life no matter where you are in life. It does not take a lot of money to live a fabulous life, just a lot of creativity. Honestly, being fabulous is a state of mind and I plan to help get you there, fabulously of course!!!

Just in time for the weekend, I have the perfect list of products for you to use during your “me time” and to pamper yourself. Going to the spa is expensive sometimes, so I have a list of ways to maintenance your fabulous while on a budget. I know first hand that being fabulous is time consuming because there is always so much to do, but so little time do it. And with the crazy lives most of us live, it is easy to forget about yourself in the hustle and bustle of life, but I am here to remind you that your fabulous needs to be maintained occasionally. I highly recommend some “me time” or a spa day weekly, but even I am unable to adhere to this schedule, so make sure you squeeze it in at least every two weeks. If you are unable to dedicate a large chunk of time to this routine, you will be able to use most of these products quickly on an occasional basis by themselves.

There are a ton of products to use for your spa day, but here are some that come highly recommended by me and have received my fabulous seal of approval:

1. Kiehl’s Facial Fuel Energizing Facial Scrub – I became addicted to Kiehl’s years ago when I first tried their Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub because it was mentioned on Will & Grace (this is really the reason why I tried it). The TV show may have piqued my interest in the product, but the product’s effectiveness kept me until they released this scrub. I know it is officially a man’s product, but some of my female friends have used it and have fell in love as well. It is great because it is scrub, but unofficially doubles as a mask. I recommend scrubbing your face with it first and then hopping into to the shower while it rejuvenates your face. The key ingredient in this product is caffeine which may not be good when you drink it, but works wonders when applied to your skin. This product will definitely have people commenting on how refreshed your skin looks the next day.

2. Carol’s Daughter Brown Sugar Body Scrub (formerly named the Sweet Honey Dip Chocolate Brown Sugah Body Scrub) – Trust me when I tell you this product lives up to its name. It smells so good it comes with a warning to remind you it is not meant for consumption (thank you for the reminder Carol!). You will feel like a new born baby after using this and will want to lick yourself because you will smell that good. I personally prefer sugar scrubs over salt scrubs because sugar scrubs are softer on the skin and are less abrasive. When I originally wrote this post, the item was temporarily not listed on the website, but it looks like she reformulated it and now has a better version available for purchase. I am just thankful because this product is a staple in my spa routine and I would have had a panic attack if I had to live without.

3. Level Naturals Shower Bomb – This product right here is the closest thing to heaven on earth! Sudacare used to make a similar product, but when they stopped, it took me sometime to find a comparable alternative, and this is it. The trick to this product is that is has menthol and eucalyptus that evaporate while you take a shower. This product is also quite relaxing after a long day of work. I use it on occasion when my sinuses are stopped up and it opens them right up. These bath bombs dissolve fast, so I recommend using two at the same time in the shower to prolong the experience. Level Naturals not only has good products, but superb customer service. When I placed my order online, the person who packed my order wrote a thank you on it which goes a long way with me, so I will continue to patronize this company and spread the word about their great products.

4. Lush Cosmetics Bath Bomb – These are just like the shower bomb without the menthol and eucalyptus, but what makes them special is some of them come with fizzy candy for that extra touch of relaxation somewhat reminiscent of spa jets (slight exaggeration). So drop one of these in your bath water, pour yourself a glass of wine, and you have the recipe for pure relaxation.

5. Sabon Sorbet Body Gel – When you finish showering and scrubbing, you have to make sure you moisturize, so I recommend this product. I actually found out about Sabon when I was in NYC walking in the Village with one of my close friends. I went in to try one of their products and have been infatuated with the brand every since. What I love about this product is it provides moisture without leaving a greasy feeling because of its gel based formula unlike similar products in this category.

In case you did not notice, all of these products are made naturally and have few, if any, chemicals. When it comes to my skin, I try to use natural products whenever possible because I have noticed they feel better. Above I highlighted my favorite product each of these companies provides, but each company makes many of the same products which are all good and I would recommend trying them to see which ones you like most.

So make sure you take time out of your busy schedule to take care of yourself. You have to maintenance your fabulous from time to time and this is the best way to do it so you feel refreshed and renewed.

Because to be fabulous, you have to know what makes you fabulous!
